Hello,
a bit about me:
So tell me a bit about yourself Carmen? Well, I was born in a small town in Spain, I studied English Philology in Valencia and after that I moved to London, I ended up living there 9 years!
What do you do at present? I’m a teaching English/Spanish in a big multinational company in Valencia and I am also a freelance translator with over 4 years of experience working for a translation agency.
What are your skills related to translation? I have acquired different skills from other jobs such as teaching (patient, organized, creative), or from administration, hotel receptionist, call centres (for example, good communication skills, dealing with problems, achieving targets..) and obviously translation (good at details, meeting deadlines, etc).
That’s good, but why do you enjoy translating? Good question! I use languages to acquire knowledge on different topics and fields. It is not a repetitive job, you are always learning something new! (language or culture).
Wow, I can see you are a very enthusiastic girl, tell me more about you?
I am outgoing, talkative, imaginative… I love travelling..
What countries have you been to?
Europe, USA, Asia and Australia…but you know, it is not only about travelling or learning languages, the important thing is to socialize, meet new people, and discover yourself..
Yeah, I agree with you.
And you really learn to solve problems in difficult situations…
Ok, Carmen, nice talking to you! Thanks for the interview and good luck!
Cheers! Thanks
